It is possible to customize the subscription content by choosing from selections of Standards, Technical Committees, individual Standards, groups of Standards, or by subscribing to the complete collection

📚 Subscription to Selections

Selections are collections of standards and technical guides related to specific sectors, predefined by the Standards Organization that publishes them.
There is also a selection that includes all the standards from a specific Standards Organization, known as the complete collection.
Various Standards Organizations provide predefined selections on many topics.

By way of example, below is a list of the standard selections of CEI Standards.

👤 Technical Committees Subscription

It is possible to subscribe to the standards of the Technical Committees of the various Standards Organizations.

⚙️ Customized Subscription

It is possible to subscribe to individual standards or to a selected block of standards.

Subscription to Individual Standards
A subscription to individual standards consists of one or more standards from the same Standards Organization, independently selected by the user and identified before subscribing. In this case, the standards included in the subscription are fixed.
A subscription to a single CEI Standard (single license) can be made directly from the CEI catalogue, following the usual purchase process and selecting “Subscription” as the support type.
For multi-user licenses or subscriptions to standards from Organizations other than CEI, a personalized offer must be requested by clicking the “CONFIGURE A CEI GLOBAL ONLINE SUBSCRIPTION” button.
Subscription to a Block of Standards
Once the service is activated, the user can choose which standards to include, even at different times, until reaching the maximum number allowed by the subscription.
For the CEI, a Norm Block consists of a minimum of 10 standards. In general, the minimum number of standards per block depends on the Standards Organization.

For multi-user licenses, for blocks of standards (both CEI and from other organizations), and for subscriptions to single standards from other Standards Organizations, a customized configuration must be requested.

Usage Mode

CEI offers two possible usage modes for the subscription:

View Only
By choosing the “View Only” mode, the user gains the ability to consult the content of the subscribed standards via the CEI portal, without downloading them to their PC. To use the “View Only” mode, it is necessary to be constantly connected to the internet through a fixed line (office) or mobile connection (smartphone, tablet, etc.).
This solution is particularly suitable for users who do not need to access the standards offline (for example, during flights, in areas with poor mobile coverage, etc.) nor to print them.
An important aspect of this type of subscription is that it allows opening the standard without requiring administrative privileges on the machine to install the FileOpen plugin (see the “Viewing, Downloading, and Printing” mode).
Viewing, Downloading, and Printing
This is the most comprehensive mode: in addition to everything offered by the “View Only” mode, this plan enables downloading and printing the standard file (one download per standard per user), which can be saved on the user’s PC and printed.
To open the downloaded files, it is necessary to install the FileOpen plugin, an operation that requires administrative privileges on the PC (for more details, please refer to the FAQs).

Licensing Modes

There are two access modes available for configuring a “CEI GLOBAL ONLINE” subscription:

Fixed Users
The standards and technical guides can be accessed and printed only by the users specified in the contract (identified by their email addresses).
Concurrent Users
This mode allows all employees of the company (potentially) to consult the standards and guides; the number of users who can be connected simultaneously is specified in the contract.
In this case, in addition to the number of concurrent users required, the number of locations where the standards will be used must also be specified.

To better understand the differences

Let’s consider, for example, an organization that purchases three licenses to consult the standards of a standards organization:

If the Fixed Users mode is chosen

It will be necessary to specify the three users who will be allowed to access the standards.
Once the three users—alice@mycompany.com, bob@mycompany.com, and charlie@mycompany.com—are designated, only these three users will be able to access the standards (even simultaneously).

If the Concurrent Users mode is chosen

Only the number of users who can simultaneously access the standards will be specified, regardless of who they are or how many employees in the company might potentially need access.
In fact, any user registering with an email address ending in @miaazienda.it can access the standards if there is at least one free license available.
If all licenses are in use, the fourth user will be blocked; as soon as one of the three users logs out, the fourth user will be able to access.
